Dr Jerry Dixon
Is a Chartered Occupational Psychologist and Career Guidance Counsellor specialising in CV Design, Skills Analysis, Organisational Profiling, and the methods of enhancing job seeking methods. He was the vocational co-ordinator with a large Irish organisation assisting clients with additional needs, and led one of the leading Job Club’s in the country for 23 years, placing over 8,600 people back into employment. He is an associate lecturer with SETU and has worked with family carers since 2022.
Bernard Fennessy
Is an equally experienced and accredited Career Coach with over twenty years experience working with groups and individual job seekers in South County Dublin. He is also Chair of an organisation providing reemployment services to clients with additional needs.
What Services are Being Offered ?
- Skills Analysis
This is a self reporting inventory that labels and grades your competencies and skills. This in turn will help you diagnose and cross reference your skills against those cited by employers. Where you have a specific job type in mind, the skills analysis will also help inform the skills and competencies section of a CV (Jerry). - CV Design
This a customised bespoke CV incorporating various design features proven by research to enhance the impression and attractiveness of the CV to prospective employers (Jerry). - Telephone Coaching
This is an hour session booked at a mutually convenient time / date with Bernard who can help you organise and execute your aspirations.
What’s involved? / What do we need you to Do?
Skills Analysis
On request, you will receive a comprehensive 150-item questionnaire via email. Once completed and returned (by email or post), you will be provided with a detailed competency profile outlining your strengths, skills, and development areas.
CV Design
Following your Skills Analysis—or on request—you will receive a structured CV template, similar to a traditional application form. You are encouraged to complete this in as much detail as possible and return it along with any existing or previous CVs. Having a general idea of your desired job or career path will help us tailor your CV effectively.
Telephone Coaching
Once all materials have been reviewed, you can arrange a mutually convenient telephone consultation with Bernard. During this session, you will receive guidance on identifying and targeting potential employers, exploring career opportunities, or considering self-employment options. To get the most from your session, it is helpful to have considered your employment goals and preferred timeline for entering the workforce.
