Family Carers

Overview

This course is designed to support learners to develop a foundational understanding of restorative practices and relationship-based approaches to conflict resolution. It introduces the key principles, values, and skills that underpin restorative work in community, educational, and professional settings.

The programme explores restorative approaches including communication, conflict resolution, relationship-building, and inclusive dialogue. Learners examine how restorative practices promote accountability, empathy, and collaboration, and how these approaches can be applied in real-world and professional contexts.

Entry requirements

SETU Carlow Campus operates a Recognition of Prior Experiential Learning (RPL) scheme. Applicants may be considered for exemptions or advanced entry based on relevant work and life experience.

All applications are assessed on a case-by-case basis, and applicants may be invited to attend an interview to determine suitability for the programme.
